Aseries of missing cases continues again in a small mountainous area in the northeastern U.S. state of Vermont. Starting from the mountain village of Bennington City, the area is called the Bennington Triangle, with five missing or unknown deaths in 1945–1950 and two in 2019 and 2021.

The first case was in 1943 when a man named Karl Herick went hunting in November and went missing. A few days after the search, the body was found. Hunting guns were also found, but no bullets were used. The cause of death through an autopsy is compression. It turned out that the lungs were stabbed to death in the ribs. It was not known why it happened.

On November 12, 1945, a 74-year-old hunter, middle Rivers, went missing in the same mountain. He is a clear figure in the geography of this neighborhood. The search took place for a month, but only one of his bullets was found and the body could not be found.

On December 1, 1946, 18-year-old college student Paula Jean Wellden went hiking alone. There was a witness that he ran into her while hiking. However, Welden did not return, and the search continued for a month, but it was in vain. Wellen’s father presumed that Wellen had a boyfriend and that the two of them secretly fled or were murdered.
